Dental Science is an area that has gained tremendous recognition in recent years. In view of wide spread oral diseases and dental problems among the rural population and to meet the ever increasing demands of Dental personnel in rural areas, the Pravara Medical Trust established Rural Dental College and Hospital in 1989. Currently Rural Dental College is affiliated to Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed to be University), Loni. Initially it had an intake of 60 students that was later increased to 100 admissions from 2007 onwards. Academically, Rural Dental College was affiliated to the Pune University (1989 - 1998) and then to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik (1999- 2003). However, our founder’s dream of setting up an independent university became a reality with the naissance of Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences in the year 2003. Today our infrastructure proudly supports more than 310 dental chairs and state of the art laboratories with an intake of 100 undergraduate students and 22 postgraduate students and research scholars for PhD program per year. The college has all the specialized dental preclinical and clinical departments as stipulated by Dental Council of India (DCI).
