Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences(Deemed to be University) is a culmination of strong commitment to achieve a comprehensive sustainable and people centric development of the rural area by integrating need based research, socially meaningful medical education and holistic health care.

PIMS-DU is located in a spacious and green campus of 115 acres at Loni, which is developed as per the master plan and land scaping, housing all the 6 constituent units and its rural hospital. It has state of the art building blocks for academic and co-academic programmes, multispeciality tertiary medical and dental hospitals as well as residential facility for students and staff in the campus, all within a walkable distance. It is a near cent percent residential campus with all the basic amenities and facilities, round the clock, ensuring a home away from the home. It constitutes a good multispeciality hospital for enriching clinical resource and care, central library, IT facilities, safety, security and discipline. Facilities like a State of the art Auditorium with advanced audio visual aids have been established in campus to conduct various events.

Rural Dental College
Rural Dental College has 4 Lecture halls well equipped with LCD and WiFi facility of 110 seating capacity. The seminar halls and demonstration halls in each department also have access to all the ICT Facilities for group discussions and case presentations. The college has established well-equipped teaching laboratories for practical training in the programs offered. Students are also trained to work on the mannequins with high speed motors and rotary instruments thus providing them with adequate hands on training in dentistry. There are 310 Dental Chairs along with State of the Art facilities in every department out of which few are numerated as below-

Paediatric Dentistry- Nitrous Oxide Sedation Unit, TENS, Endodontic pressure syringe.

Oral Surgery- Surgery Implant unit, Piezo-Electric Unit, Surgical loupes. Centrifuge machine, Surgical Microscope.

Oral Medicine and Diagnosis- CBCT, TMJ imaging, Advanced RVG System.

Prosthodontics- Stereo Microscope, Ceramic furnace.

Preventive Health Dentistry- Mobile Dental Van.

Learning in the community
Community based learning opportunities are also available for the students as University has established a network of numerous Satellite Primary Health Centers, Rural Health Training Centres and Urban Health Training Centres which provide valuable insights into community need-based design. These Satellite centres of PIMS acquaints the students with community related challenges. Various camps are conducted and also there is availability of mobile clinic and motorbike ambulances to help students to come in contact with the under privileged strata of society and to deliver them appropriate facilities.

Library
PIMS Library has a total collection of 35492 books with 8351 textbooks and 27141 reference books with 129 printed rare books and an access to Digital Rare Book Society of India through Delnet. The library provides access to 264 (139 National and 125 International Journals) including back dated volumes from 1977 onwards in medical subjects and since 1915 onwards bound volumes available in dental subjects. Total 13,629 bound volumes of the Journals are available for reference to the PIMS users. The library has subscription to DELNET Database for PIMS users. The library has E Resources like 375 e-Books and 5008 e-Journals with full text access.
