  • PIMS DU ORTHO RDC BOS – A WhatsApp group constituting of 6 internal members (faculty from the department) and 6 external members (Senior faculty from other universities) was created with the aim to seek guidance and advice on various topics related to postgraduate and undergraduate studies in 2017.

  • The unique practice of making postgraduate Library Dissertations in the form of monographs of contributions of world renowned orthodontists was initiated by the department of Orthodontics. Today the department library boasts of the creation and collection of 75 such titles.

  • The Monographs have gained attention of the international fraternity and earned appreciation from the likes of Dr.Ronald Hathaway, Dr.Junji Sugawara, Dr.Steven Lindauer, Dr. Adrian Becker, etc.

  • Preservation of Academic records in the form of both Hard & Soft Copies of each post graduate student is done in the Department Library, Central Library and the IOS Library for future journey towards perfection – to avail as references for the new Leaders.

  • Monthly theory exams on Standard Textbooks are conducted in sequential order over a 36 month Post Graduate Programme, with a view to secure a strong foundation based in thorough knowledge of the subject.

  • Tutorials / Hands on workshop on Evidence Based Dentistry and Evidence Based Orthodontics including teaching of web learning resources mainly the Cochrane Collaboration are conducted to encourage a culture of inquisitive learning.

  • The following programs are undertaken to improve doctor- patient relationship which would in turn lead to better orthodontic care : 1. Celebration of Orthodontic Week (Patient Awareness Programme) 2. Orthodontic Need assessment of Community & Participatory Learning action (PLA) 3. Training of Bioethics to UGs & PGs 4. Training of Marketing and managemaent of Orthodontic Practice. 5. Patient Feedback Report 6. Teaching of Communication Skill (Patients Values and Prefrences) 7. Nature the Caretaker
