INTRODUCTION
Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry which deals with developmental and positional anomalies of teeth and jaws as they affect oral health and physical, aesthetic and mental well-being of the person. Emphasis is laid on the maintenance of oral, physical and mental health of the patient and also his/her aesthetics. The Department of Orthodontics came into existence in 1989 with the establishment of Rural Dental College, Loni. The Department offers a graduate program(BDS), a three-year postgraduate program(MDS) and a doctoral program(PhD). The advanced training program in Orthodontics is approved and accredited by the Dental Council of India. The section of Orthodontics offers a wide range of activities covering the following aspects.
